What is the best way to find out and buy forclosure properties?

I am young would like to buy my first piece of property, and I have been advised that I should be doing this by buying a forclosure property. I don’t want to go through any of those gimics that you see on TV, I just want to buy a regular house that I can live in, then rent out when I have more money to spend on something. Can someone tell me the best way to find out about finding out and buying these properties, do you do it directly through a bank? How is it done? I want to be able to finance the property, so I can’t buy it outright unless it is really cheap. What should I do?

I’m not into flipping forclosures, but I may have to loose my house and was trying to figure out the detremental effects it can have and see how they would relate to my situation on whether I should sign the house off or let them take it….. Any help with sites or other info since I am looking for facts, would be much appreciated. I would like to read up on it since I need to see a lawyer anyway for some details that also pertain to my mortgage company and a lein holder from before we bought the house.

Is the lease agreement still valid if the property goes into forclosure?

I am currently renting a “mother-in-law” 1 bedroom house in California. I was told that the house was going in forclosure but i had no idea this was true until four months into my lease agreement. I found another apartment and want to move but my current landlord said that i need to finish out the rest of my lease agreement. Is the lease agreement still valid if the home is in forclosure??

Does anyone know how long and how bad a foreclosure tears up your credit if all other accounts are in great standing? We have 4 houses and are letting one go into forclosure. Everything else we have is in great shape. Serious replies only please.

How long do I have in a forclosure in Missouri?

I just found out our house was in forclosure and was going to be forclosed on March 6th, 2008. How long do I have after that date before I have to get out of the house? Is it immediately or do they give you a week or so to find a new place? I dont know if it matters but I live in Kansas city, Missouri. Please lte me know what you may know about this.
