How can a buyer get a vehicle title if the seller filed bankruptcy?
December 23, 2007 by blog100 · 3 Comments
A seller is selling his motorcycle but claimed that the creditor has the title since he claimed bankruptcy.
“I do not have a title to this bike, however I could provide a bill of sale. I filed for bankruptcy about a year ago and cannot obtain a title. Whenever I filed for chapter 7, I got to keep the bike but the credit card company would not release the title to me.”
How can a buyer get a title and register it from the MVD? Or is the buyer out of luck.

Do credit repair programs really work?

I came across some programs offered by, ex-bankers, ex-credit bureau agents that offer tactics and software that enable you to repair your credit. They claim to be able to create a new credit file. Anyone know if they work? What happens to your old credit file?

How long after a bankruptcy is discharged (finalized) does your credit report reflect that?
December 21, 2007 by blog100 · 7 Comments
In other words, my bankruptcy was discharged at the end of March, when will the credit report relect which accounts were thrown out in the bankruptcy?
Thanks!
DAS: I know that the items stay on the credit report, but they will have a note indicating that the were included in the bankruptcy so that any future creditors can see that the debt is not outstanding.

How can I assume full financial responsibility for an car loan I co-signed for without refinancing the loan?
December 17, 2007 by blog100 · 5 Comments
I co-signed for a vehicle for my son but now he wants to reduce his monthly expenses. I want to take over the payments and get him off the loan so he can go buy a cheaper car and be able to qualify for the financing. Is it possible to somehow get him off the loan without having to go through the bank and refinance? We live in CA and it is financed through Wells Fargo.
